Will you become the Hands God needs today?

We are closing out our 16th year for LFFA! Deo Gratias!

For 16 years we have spread the faith, trying to fill the void that is out there for unique, soul enriching books. The confusion and emptiness that has grown due to lack of Catholic teaching in that last few decades.

We have met so many faithful souls, through our work. Catholics from all walks of life that inspire us. Some have now passed on to their reward. May they rest in peace.

Some who started out as a young family, now have grown children. We have literally grown with the families we serve. It’s been an honor and a blessing!

Here is just a sampling from some of our families:

Sharon writes us

"I am so excited about everything! I cannot wait to get through everything. Thanks for the extras I wish we lived closer and could visit in person. You are such an inspiration to me!"

and Mary wrote:

"Happy Birthday, Rita! You are magnificent!! A true blessing from God!!! By the way, our family is hooked on "To Jesus through Mary boardgame"! I am SO thrilled how this "simple" game reminds our family of our Catholic truths!! Thank you!!!"

Just a few of the comments we hear about our work.

But our crosses have been many since we started this apostolate.

In 1999 when I wrote my book ‘Immodesty, Satan’s Virtue’ I had a vivid example of the crosses ahead of us, when we returned home one day, to a sulphorous smell in our home. Turned out the manuscript for my book, ‘Immodesty’ was damaged as well as my computer. But when I opened the file, all that was left readable in the corruptible file, was the "Hail Mary…." in the front chapter. (its still there). It gave me shivers and still does.

  • Since then we have been ripped off from our postal service to the tune of $3500

  • Had some of our titles, compromised by people who do not understand, "do not steal"

  • Was nearly put out of business, when a crooked company sold us broken printing equipment, costing us over $20,000, including court costs, which we lost.

  • Poverty has followed us all these years, and big financial crosses just put us under more and more. (just read our About us page)

But the hardest cross we had to bear was when our three oldest children left our family and the faith. The many crosses that our family had to carry was often too much for even them.

This time it struck right in the heart of our work. And blew the wind, and the will, right out of us. We stopped Little Flowers Family Press for over a year (2010) trying to regain our breath and discern God’s will for us.

It was a long year, one of much tears, prayers, and healing, trying to see if there was any point in continuing Little Flowers Family Press.

But, one day it became crystal-clear to me. After talking to a customer (that is why they inspire me so much!), who clearly said they need us, and why. They need our books, and our faith to help them.

That was Fall 2011 when we started back, with a renewed hope. At least strengthened. Since Fall 2011, we have sunk all our time, love and money into LFFA. Here is just a summary of what we invested into LFFA:

  1. We published a brand new Annual Catalogue in 2011, the first in a few years and mailed it to our entire list in the U.S. And Canada. That cost us over $6000.

  2. We purchased new printing equipment, and got rid of the old ones, that cost us another $20,000.

  3. We redesigned a new website to be more current, costing us twice, since the first company we tried had to back out when they couldn’t meet current standards. That cost us over $3000.

  4. I began my blog, to reach out to more people with articles and advice. Many come to me searching for truth. Armed with questions that I have answered over the years. A blog was the best way to use current technology for the greater glory of God and get information out to many more.

  5. We invested in updated equipment, such as new computers, new software and new video equipment so we can continue to move forward with technology and serve you the best way we can. This cost us over $7,000.

  6. We hired some help, to help with our online work, and are seeking more people to join our team, in 2013.

We now have authors, editors and illustrators that help us publish. A new graphic designer that we’ve just met, may be working with us.

Now on the eve of our first year back, we just found out, that we may need to make some big changes to our website, since new issues have come up. The cost ? We are leaving this, like everything, in God’s hands.

All in all, we’ve put our souls into this apostolate. We have met some fabulous people this year that has made it all worthwhile and have helped us get on our feet. We could not do this without you all! God is good! But, we have literally put everything into LFFA this past year. Now, we are spent. By spent, I mean all our efforts have taken all our resources and we literally don’t have a dime left this year to move forward into next year.

We have some new Children’s Kits planned that I am so excited about sharing with you! And some new Modesty resources to help fill that pressing need out there. January we will start our series on Natural Healthcare for Catholics, now that Obamacare is frightening many families what they will do. As I recently told a customer, "I have so many ideas, but little money to work with!"

I hope we are doing God’s will in furthering His kingdom. I pray that my work has blessed your family?

One customer recently told us,

"Keep going, Rita. You are doing amazing things and if I haven’t already told you, I appreciate it. I would so buy one of everything you have, if I could"

We now come to you. Will you join us?

When we aid-and-abet a thief, God considers us guilty too. RIght?

How much more will God reward you for aiding and abetting our Catholic Publishing apostolate? When we reach thousands of souls that are parched and lost, and bring them back to the fold because of you?
How much more will God look at you as that kind soul, that helped make it all possible? After all, the value of just one soul is priceless! And that is precisely why we are having such a hard time. Because to save so many souls, the devil is on an all-out war against our work.

We need warriors on our team, to help us fight in this war for souls. We all know the casualties. The older children we have that has lost the faith, the in-laws that no longer believe, the grown children that no longer go to Church. We have the casualties all around us.

Would you consider joining us, to reach these lost souls?

Your donation to help us develop new products that help educate, edify and save souls? A gift of $5, $25, $50, $100 or $1000 ? Any amount at all would do so much. You are really the only hands, that God has to work through to help us here.

We need Apostolate Warriors on our team!

Apostolate warriors, we ask you to be the hands for us:

1. Pray for our work!

2. Share every blog post, every email, and our products, with family and friends please!

3. Consider us, when you need to buy Catholic gifts, or homeschooling needs come up. Even your purchases help us!

And for those able or called to donate, we beg for your generous donations to help cover our new projects for 2013.

Whether a recurring donation, or a one-time donation, we will humbly accept them all!

As our GIFT:

I would like to offer all our Apostolate Warriors:

a year of Sunday Masses said for you!

Whether you can only offer your warrior prayers (see our suggestions) or a one time donation, all we need is your name and address to send you a beautiful mass Card with our thanks and your year of Sunday Masses confirmation on it.

We cannot thank you enough for reading this far. For supporting us over the years and being there for us. Your prayers are what carry us through. Your donations are what make it all possible. Go now and be generous today for the souls of tomorrow.

God bless and keep you all,

~Rita

Is it fairly safe to count me as one of your “warriors” already? 🙂
