Davidson Family Trust update #101 haha ?

Hello my friends!

Well life has been a whirlwind since our mold renovations began in July. From my mother landing in the hospital and losing her ability to walk because of her arthritis, that brought on a slew of stress dealing with her increased nursing care and services. We are finally over the worst and she is happily getting the care she needs here at home with us. ?Thank God.??

I’ve been playing with a new way to write you and I am enjoying the new process YAY!!!! Are you? I’ve so missed writing you all ? ✍? let me know how you like this?

While we dealt with my moms nursing care we were having the mold removed room by room starting with bedrooms (that got us sleeping in the living room the WHOLE pile of us!) and finally our kitchen was torn out. Since the kitchen was built-in (gotta love custom made! ?) they had no choice but to break it. ? So that left us without a kitchen for 6 + weeks or more.

In the process of this work they removed the mold under containment with rooms sealed, so we could not sleep on our bedrooms. You would not believe how sore all my bones were once they began! Whether it was some of the mold escaping I don’t know but the first few days where really hard on my body. I’m so thankful we got it done!

In our kitchen wall opposite to our sink the wall was removed and they found a un-insulated furnace pipe in the wall and rot! ?They discovered it was leaking into the wall from outside rotting the wood and adding mold to the house. So they cleaned and repaired that wall, sealed up the leaks and insulated the pipe before it got closed up. This was a reason how thankful we were to have gotten this done! How could we have ever know this was there? This is what added to our cost as well.

We learned a lot we didn’t know about water and our house so next we have to re-grade our laneway to shed water away from the house.

They discovered our water is filtering into our basement and adding to our humidity inside!? So we are waiting for excavating to be done and eavestrophing to get water away from the foundation.

Waiting….

Boy I have learned more waiting in all this. Making phone calls, leaving messages for contractors, not hearing back and waiting….calling again. Months have passed by. I can’t tell you how frazzled I have been lately!

I’ve made a temporary office in my moms room when she’s up in her wheelchair daily to make calls from.

So in all this we’ve been living without a kitchen, washing dishes in the laundry room. In desperation last week I began a Novena to St Therese. I know God often waits for us to be desperate to start answering us… I should have known. ? On the second day of the Novena I found our kitchen from a girl named “Rose” of course! ????

This weekend was our Thanksgiving weekend and I was determined to put on a meal without a kitchen!??

Turkey and Apple Betty (you can find the recipe here on my blog) and all the fixings! ?I was exhausted and impressed! ? I made it all without a proper kitchen. Haha ? I can do anything now! ?

Later that same day, while the turkey was cooking?‍?, our kitchen was picked up…

It took five HOURS for us to unload it and find where to store it. So my house is still a mess.

Haha ?

And wait til you hear about my St Joseph Novena…. well that’s a story for next time….

PLEASE help us with this work by donating to our Trust Fund www.gofundme.com/davidsonfamilytrust

Can’t wait to show you our progress! ?

With much love,

Rita Xxo ?

I can’t imagine the stress you’re feeling- with all of ‘it’, you are handling it very well. You’re quite a “juggler”!
