Do we not know we are temples of the Holy Ghost? You would think some have forgotten this by the way they live. For me coming close to death not once but a few times…my stroke at 26, then our housefire… I’m reminded this body I own is not my own. It is just the house for my soul which belongs to God, and a temple for the God that dwells there. So with all my nagging health problems and thanks to another Catholic mom Lauren who reminded me of this elimination diet…I’ve decided to start #whole30 August 1st which is today…. So from now til August 30th I’ll be having “lent in August” LOL.
MONDAY
It’s official… just one more day and I’ll be on Whole30. Anyone else do this 30day elimination diet? I’m excited and freaked out all at the same time! Haha ? with so many irritating health issues like bursitis, sore joints, adrenal fatigue, plus being overweight (ohh I’ll miss you @penningtons !) haha ? but I just feel I need to do this for ME. How else can I do my part to prevent cancer, stroke and more? I had a stroke at 26 years old so I know it can happen. But I want to be here for my children and so I owe it to them to do all I can… sometimes God sends us lifeboats that we need to do the rowing! ? so I hope you all won’t mind me sharing my journey and will keep reminding me why I’m doing this if I get weak?! Who wants to do this with me? It’s just 30 days to a whole new life… ???#whole30
TUESDAY
First day of my #whole30 diet Having my dairy free, sugar free coffee… ewwww what a wake up! I weighed myself yesterday in preparation and gave myself a shock. I’m being completely honest when I share with you I’m a disappointing 255lbs. ?After being an anorexic teen I shuddered away from diets. I was horrified when I lost 60lbs of myself one summer and not being able to eat ANYTHING. I never wanted to go back to that. So I instead concentrated on healthy eating going from vegetarianism to vegan to having a stoke at 26yrs, then years later after a health crash to gluten-free. But nagging health issues persist and while you all think I look GREAT modelling my #plusizemodestfashion I don’t FEEL great. I want to have energy again and FEEL healthy. If God wants to take me one day He has plenty ways to do that..(just look at our house fire!) I want to know I’ve done my part in keeping this “temple of the Holy Ghost” well and so I’m excited what this elimination diet will do for me. All for the greater glory of God! ☕️???????#whole30 #catholic #catholicwomen #realcatholicbeauty
