Modesty comes in Many Styles

What’s YOUR style?

By Rita Davidson

Sometimes modesty gets us “stuck in a rut”. Everyone starts thinking ‘their’ version of modesty is the ‘right’ version of modesty and then the “modesty wars” start. Cover your head when they start!

Here is just a few options I created  on Polyvore, last year.

BY the way if your on Polyvore you can follow me HERE.

I hope these help fuel your own style? Be sure to leave me your comments how you like these selections? (or don’t!?) What works for you?  What DOESN’T work for you and what you WISH you could wear? 🙂 haha! 🙂

Lets make modesty fun!

With love,

Rita Xo 🙂

    Hi Rita,
It’s a sunny, frosty, cold, brrr winter morning here in Queensland Australia Thanks be to God 🙂

I love the middle outfit & the colours of the other 2, especially the bottom one…Oh I’d love that fabric in a skirt to wear with a top in any of those colours in that fabric…I love sleeves, & necklines really worry me.
Here’s my pintrest pages of what I would like to be able to afford & wear & what I would like my 2 eldest daughters to wear, they both have different builds & tastes.

      Hello Robyn,
And welcome from chilly Australia!! 🙂
So glad you are enjoying my Polyvore creations! I don’t dress that snazzy often so nice to be able to put an outfit together to give everyone and idea how modesty works, is easier than it looks!
YOu said, necklines worry you? You mean your not sure which is modest or not? Or because you’d rather have lower necklines that are not so modest? I wasn’t sure from your comment? 🙂
I LOVE your pinterest pages! Just lovely creations all the way through! Those are lovely picks and very modest too from my quick look.
You say your in a rut? In what way? Not sure how to create the looks you like? Can’t afford to dress the way you want? Or something else?

I’m here to help! So glad you are enjoying all my blog posts here! It really has been a blessing for me to start blogging I think as I love to see people helped by something I can share.
      Take care and stay warm!
      God bless and keep you,
      WIth love,

    Hi Rita,

Sorry to be so confusing…. by worrying necklines I mean if you’re shopping on the web some outfits look fine & when you get them they are way lower than you’d like & I think it’s so sad that society has accepted & become so blase about low necklines…just to clarify…LOL…I love high necklines 🙂
And as for the ruts I’m in…LOL… I just mean the every day organization keeping on top of things …or not…kind of ruts…nothing to worry about 🙂 just life 🙂
    Cheers,
    Robyn

Ah yes, Robyn, I can see what you mean now.
Some necklines are easy to salvage with a bit of sewing or scarves etc. But yes, it’s sad its so difficult today to find proper clothes.
Ah yes, life! Behind in organization, I can relate! 🙂 Mind you I lost 100% of all our stuff which was really like having a clean slate! 🙂 LOL
      God is good!
      Love,
      Rita Xo 🙂

      Hi Robyn,
Well, I laugh yes, only because we learned long ago if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry! 🙂

Laughter is truly good for the soul. Though we do grieve too, as we are human of course.
Yes, there is a certain freedom in starting from scratch again. 🙂
God turns everything into good, for those that love Him.
      And THAT I do,
      🙂 God bless!!

Rita, just to say which options I like on the polyvore site. I LOVE the first option, the #5 one for everyday, and the #7 one labeled everyday. 🙂 I’m not a person to dress up just to be around the house, but the denim skirts are cute, and so easy to match up with things. 🙂

      Hi Karen!
So nice to see you here! OH so glad you really enjoyed the creations I made up on Polyvore! Yeah, dressing up to stay home, can be kinda be counterproductive…but some days, well a little color, sure brightens my mood. (yes, believe it or not I have to work to stay happy!) LOL

Love your comments and always love hearing from you!
      With love,

I can’t stand having to cover a sleeveless dress with a jacket, so several of those are “No-Go”‘s for me. My mom loves buying me sleeveless dresses with jackets, and this summer I finally purged my closet of all of them. To me, they’re just uncomfortable. I’d rather wear a shirt UNDER, but you can’t always do that without looking frumpy. (Well, maybe I am frumpy.) Anyway, I’d have to pick the everyday #7 option, too.

      Hi Janice,
Great to see old friends here! Yes, some of us have different needs for what we feel comfortable wearing. And that is OKAY. It means we won’t all look the same! 🙂
But I gotta know…what IS so wrong with Frumpy?? 🙂

      God bless,
      Rita Xo 🙂
