Society’s Fall from Grace

Society’s Fall from Grace

by Rita Davidson

… Society is growing ever more pagan … The light of the Catholic faith is growing faint in Catholic souls … The clergy is quite insufficient to cope with the necessities and needs of our times … hence it is necessary that all men be apostles; it is necessary that the Catholic laity do not stand idle … When our country is in danger, everything not strictly necessary, everything not bearing directly on the urgent matter of unified defense, takes second place. So we must act in today’s crisis. Every other enterprise, however attractive and helpful, must yield before the vital need of protecting the very foundation of the Faith and of Christian civilization” – Pope Pius XI.

We are all feeling the rush of society’s falling from grace. It is a scary time to be living out the faith today. When all we are living for, seems against everything the world cherishes today, it seems easier to give up. But, we must remember, it will be because of our faithfulness to our Lord, if we are to win this war for souls.

Our daily rosary, our daily duty, love of God and man, and standing up for the truth when we can. God will surely reward those of His faithful souls who stood by him. Those souls that did not sleep, as the apostles did on the fateful day of His arrest. Let us be faithful, let us be zealous, let us be steadfast.
