While the eyes of the great are elsewhere

If you stay on Facebook long enough you’re bound to get weak in the knees with all the bad news that is passed around.

Wars and rumors of wars….Seems we were warned about this by Our Lady of Fatima. The terrible beheading of James Foley; (may he rest in peace). Extremists taking over city after city with a barbarity that we haven’t seen in centuries.  Watching the cries of mothers stretched to their limit. Warnings of possible US strikes. I don’t want to dredge up all the horrors but we have to agree it is frightening.

All the more frightening for families; wife’s and mothers with sons (and daughters) in the military or other professions that put them in harms way.

It is frightening enough to make one want to give up. It’s too much for the mind to take in. It sure took a few days for me to process it.

I barely hear the news; we have no radio or TV signal at all. So all my news is online and I don’t go looking for it often. So it’s usually the BIGGEST stories that trickle down to me. I have made a “choice” to block out news since, what good does it do me to know what is happening day by day? Besides the weather, what difference does it matter what is happening around the world? Our duty is here, to our vocation and our family and that is just where God would want us.

SO WHERE DOES THIS ALL FIT?

Well I’m no rocket scientist, or theologian, I’m just a Catholic mom like you. And I say Catholics, must have hope. Hope for what you ask? Well, let’s take a closer look at this.

Our Lady of Fatima said, “Russia would spread her errors”, where does Russia fit into this Middle East explosion? Was Our Lady wrong? Of course not! So, we must conclude that this is not the “ERROR” that Our Lady warned us about. That doesn’t mean we forget about it, but we must be sure that this terrifying barbarity doesn’t distract us ‘while the eyes of the great are elsewhere’. What else is happening in the world right now that should concern us?

Perhaps it’s our freedoms that are slowly being eroded from families and society in the western world. While abortion is still all the rage there is some progress here and there. But the big push is for euthanasia. Everywhere it is pushing for its place in every corner. Then there is all the entertainment. Social media and the internet has literally changed the way are families relate to each other now and impurity is at our very fingertips.

While the news is unsettling in the Middle East, we must remember this is all part of a puzzle which we are only seeing a part. What purpose does God have in this new violence? How does this all look from God’s eyes? Can you see where I’m headed with this?

Well, God is surely sick of His children that have no regard for Him. How many blasphemies of Jesus and His blessed Mother, are reported daily that cry to heaven for vengeance? How about the Satanists that are trying now to come out in the open to spread their hatred for the Catholic faith among regular society.

The West and its extravagance is drowning in impurity from every side. I even read a report that said the violence from the middle east is partly because they are sick of the impurity so widespread here.

Our Lady of Fatima has warned us to do penance to stay her Son’s hand from striking the world. “Men must amend their lives, and ask pardon for their sin”

MARTYRS ARE THE SEEDS OF THE CHURCH

Can you see how this fits in now? While the West is saturated with impurity, idolatry and Godlessness, the Middle East and other areas are slaughtering Christians for their faith. This is the blood of martyrs, these martyrs are the seeds of the Church. These martyrs are appeasing the hand of God, to give the West time to repent.

Our Lady of Fatima said, “(Russia)…,  will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecution of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be destroyed…But in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”

How do we know? There are glimpses of hope, if you watch for them. One story I read of some people standing up to fight back. Another story I read about those families that managed to escape and now refuges but they are ALIVE! Lastly was a report how a growing number of Muslims are siding with Christians and fighting with them because of the brave example they seen in those Christians that died for their faith.

As disheartening as it seems, God IS there with those faithful souls. Bringing their souls courage and nourishment so they may die well. For others He is helping them find a way to escape. There have always been times in the Church when all seemed lost. Now is NOT the time to give up. Now is the time to pray all the more!

WHAT CAN WE DO?

We must pray much more, and stay faithful to our station in life. Pray our rosary as Our Lady asked at Fatima, and keep her company for 15 minutes on five  1st Saturdays. She tells us, “Recite the rosary every day to obtain the peace for the world and the end of the war.”

That’s it! Our prayers are united to the Church Militant. Our prayers, can support those faithful souls that are giving up their souls for Christ.

With our cooperation God can do so much more good in the world. It is up to us to make up for those we know that are lax in the faith. There is always hope and there is nothing more that the devil would like; than to take away our hope so we will feel helpless and do nothing to help the Church.

Remember the battle of Lepanto and Our Lady’s victory there! Do not give up, but commit yourself to Our Lady’s side by saying her rosary and she will surprise us with a greater victory than we could imagine. Because in the end, “ my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”

And there will be an era of peace.

With love,

Rita Xo

    Hello Rita,
Enjoyed your article, but I believe, after following the message of Fatima for many years, that we are very close to the chastisements that Our Lady of Fatima warned us about if we did not repent and change our ways.
The world continues on its merry way, ignoring the Message. How much time do we have? Our Lord said that we would follow the King of France who failed to consecrate his country as requested and The King of France got 100 years and then lost his head during the French Revolution. Our Lady asked for the consecration of Russia in 1917. Do we have much time then before the chastisements come and they will be fearful.
In the Bible it says bishops will be against bishops, cardinal against cardinals. We are there! Traditional Catholics are being mocked, even by the Pope. I read everything I can about all this and it is frightening. I cannot believe the things that are happening.
Anyway, just thought I would give you my thoughts and am glad there are others out there who care.

      Thank you Celine!
I’m so glad to have your comments and glad you enjoyed the article too.
Perhaps we ARE in the time of the chastisement today? But haven’t we been close to annihilation in the past? WW2 Hiroshima? WW2 Hitler and his extermination of Jews and Catholics. What about the Reformation and the war against Catholics in England that wiped them out? Oh the French Revolution, oh my! There have been terrifying times in the Church in the past that we have survived from. It’s true Our Lady asked for the Consecration of Russia, but that is out of our hands and in the hands of the Pope, priests and bishops.Fortunately, Our Lady knew this and also told us, “the consecration would be done, but it would be late”. This says that there WILL be something done in time, since our Lady predicted it. While we can get very disheartened by how much the Church is upside down, I truly believe that it is NOW that the Church NEEDS us, to pray and do penance as Our Lady of Fatima asked and be the ‘ten’ good men that God was looking for in the Old Testament.
We must have HOPE that God knows what He is doing and not give up doing all we can do to bring about this peace!

Thank you for stopping by and God bless you,
      Rita
