Real Catholic Beauty, means Charity in our hearts
By Rita Davidson
Charity, just what is charity?
Does the world needs more charity? I watched a viral Youtube video of a boy slamming a girl to the ground knocking her unconscious awhile back. It was shocking. What was more shocking was how everyone around just stood there watching or recording but did nothing.
We have become a mindless, distracted society with a phone at the end of our hands.
That might be the world you say, but what about the Church?
I no longer like to call myself a Traditional Catholic.
The lacerations thrown out by Catholic vs Catholic is enough to make heaven weep.
I think we have all forgotten just what living is about. This swift moving life is nothing but a waiting room for our next life. Unfortunately all I see are Catholics backbiting, and nitpicking on Facebook pages and other groups. These are protected places where traditional Catholics should feel safe. And feeling safe makes everyone lax in what they write since it’s so easy to write and press POST. Have we all forgotten that WE TOO were once CLUELESS until we learned about our faith? I am ashamed. This is not about us, this is about our salvation.
We all admit to the confusion today. Some have been ‘traditional’ for so long they have lost sight and become blind that others are completely clueless about what the faith really means.
If we have TRUE CHARITY in our hearts for our fellow Catholic, we would not be calling them out publicly when they don’t adhere to our idea of faith.
If we truly cared about their salvation we would comfort them, console them, educate them with kindness where needed? Aren’t these the spiritual works of mercy at work?
Just because someone is mistaken we don’t have to accost them and threaten them with the truth. How do we ever think we will help someone get to heaven like that?
Our public Facebook accounts give us a lot of anonymity and that comes with a danger. Many login and are just blasting the faith to all that will hear and for those that won’t hear they are just blasting it louder.
Do you not realize that Our Lord Himself has the graces for conversion by the Holy Ghost not by your words blasted onto a Facebook page?
Perhaps we all need to spend a little more time in sincere prayer, pouring our hearts out to God. Go to Our Lady to ask her for the grace you need to be patient. Do what she asked at Fatima by making sacrifices for the conversion of sinners and consecrating ourselves to the Immaculate Heart. That is how we can all add graces to the world today that is so barren. Our Lady sees all her children, and is sorrowful at how we can’t get along. She knows the devil is not resting and is spreading his tail into every corner stirring up confusion and false piety where needed. Rest on Our Lady’s lap and pray for the patience and prudence we need to save the souls in our lives.
Next time you go to your Facebook page (or any social media page), be a source of light instead of abrasiveness. Be a source of grace instead of thorns. Let #RealCatholicBeauty be your guide, and kindness on your lips and in your hearts to spread the real faith to thirsty souls that are blind and need to see.
With love,
Rita xo 😉
